Local baker Liz Kirkman, affectionately nicknamed "Cha Cha", known for her delectable thick cheesecakes, heavenly pies, and exquisitely decorated sugar cookies, has embarked on an exciting new chapter in her culinary journey.


Alongside her husband Ed, Cha Cha has taken the reins of Hiland Bakery here in Des Moines. The official Grand Opening happened October 17, 2023! This move marks a significant step forward for her baking business as she ventures into the heart of Hiland Bakery's legacy. 


With her passion for crafting irresistible desserts and her commitment to quality, Cha Cha is not only taking over a cherished institution but also bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the table.
